SUSTAINABLE SWIMWEAR

We have started Saga with the intention to empower you be confident and bold, and not compromise on quality. Our designs are made to last a long time in your closet, so you can be stylish year after year. Beyond that we want to connect with people, who cares about the materials and production of their swimwear.

You can read more about our philosophy here.

Our goals

We hope one day soon to keep our products and materials circulating because the materials have the strength to be reused again and again. Then your Saga swimwear, made from recycled materials, be made into new swimwear, which can be recycled into new swimwear, and so on.

We want to avoid our products ending up in landfills and never fulfill their full potential.

By recycling the material, we don’t need to produce new raw materials, which have a significant impact on the environment.

We will keep you updated when the possibility is here.

Until then we hope you will take good care of your swimwear, so it has a long life.

MATERIALS

We want to be transparent with our production patterns, materials, working ethics, and much more.

To give you a clear picture of our product composition, we will provide you with a run-through.

Regenerated polyamide – ECONYL® yarn

Our fabrics are made from ECONYL® yarn and elastane.

The oceans are overflowing with fishnets and trash, which interrupt the wildlife and kills many turtles and fish every year.

Nylon waste that would otherwise pollute our Earth are collected and regenerated into ECONYL® yarn.

The ECONYL® yarn gets mixed with elastane to make the fabrics able to stretch and wear as swimwear.

Elastane is made from entirely synthetic components and is not biodegradable.

All our fabrics have the OEKO-TEX 100 standard certificates, which indicates that no harmful substances were used under production.

All our hardware are made in France and have the OEKO-TEX 100 standard.

The coloring process of the fabric is certified with OEKO-TEX 100 Standard.

PRODUCTION

We aim to keep our products and suppliers in Europe and as near to Denmark as possible.

The process for producing ECONYL® regenerated nylon takes place in Slovenia and it is done by Auqafil, and the making of the final fabrics are in Italy. Our printed materials are made, with the fabric from Italy, in a Danish business. The production of the final product is placed in Italy. The factory focuses on keeping a healthy work environment and has a solid CSR policy that has been audited by SGS and Intertek.

IMPACT

All our fabrics are made from ECONYL® yarn, which is made from nylon waste. It reduces global warming up to 90% compared with the material from oil. From here, we hope to convert much more waste into swimwear and then keep reusing it.

We always strive to be well informed and optimize our business if we see a possibility to improve.
